#34 Dormer Room: Queen Bed
Created during the Cameron expansion a century ago, this cozy room is tucked away in a dormer and features a queen bed and private bath with shower. The room was added in the 1889 expansion of the inn when James Cameron removed the roof and added the third floor.
This expansion was twofold, one his first wife disliked the “Mansion House” as it was not grand enough and secondly more space was needed for housing the entourage from Washington D.C. when President U. S. Grant stayed at Donegal.
With views facing east and south, the room offers a view of Donegal Creek, the woods surrounding the property and the Donegal church. If you enjoy the rising sun, this room offers one of the best vantage points to greet the day.
