#11 McKinley Room: King Bed
Situated on the South-west corner of the mansion just inside the front door, the McKinley room is an ideal spot for viewing the setting sun.
Once the Receiving Parlor, this comfortable space is named after President McKinley whose great-great-great-grandparents owned the property in the 1700s.
The original gouge-carved mantle features a stylized pineapple, symbolizes those intangible assets we appreciate in a home: warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality all of which are captured at Cameron Estate Inn. With a color scheme based on an authentic Federal-period Soldier Blue milk paint, this delightful room is in the oldest part of the mansion dating back to 1805.
This Lancaster Pa accommodation features include a king canopy bed, original interior wood shutters, and woodwork, wood-burning fireplace* with the original gouge-carved mantle, and a private bath with tub/shower combination.
Originally a parlor, this is the room where the original owners would have discussed their roles in the War of 1812 and the Spanish-American War.
A getaway near Hershey, York, Lancaster, and Harrisburg to create a memorable escape at the Cameron Estate Inn.
